Jenny Urquhart is a Bristol-based artist who creates contemporary and vibrant paintings of her favourite places. She works largely with acrylic, ink and collage and also experiments with computer based graphics and photography.
Having a passion for natural history, Jenny studied Biology at Oxford University before becoming a Biology teacher. In 2010, after ten years in the classroom and with a growing young family, Jenny decided to follow her heart and paint full time.
Jenny's paintings often reflect her long term love affair with the South West coastline and the British countryside. Many of her paintings show rural scenes, inspired from holidays in Devon, Cornwall and North Wales. Jenny also adores her hometown of Bristol and her signature cityscapes, featuring hot-air balloons and the Suspension Bridge, are a familiar sight in Bristol.
Jenny's work can now be bought in galleries all over the South West as well as online (see stockists). She has a growing range of limited edition prints, greetings cards and undertakes commissions!
